Camping

This weekend we embarked on our 2nd family camping trip. We drove out to Stephen F. Austin State Park to meet up with some friends. Our 1st camping experience was last summer in CO. Refer here: http://matt-jack.blogspot.com/2008/09/vacation-day-7-thursday.html or here: http://matt-jack.blogspot.com/2008/10/camping-in-co-it-was-cold.html if you wish to know the details, but to sum up, it was COLD and no one slept. This time was better. Perfect weather and there was some sleeping.
Hiking Saturday afternoon.
Jackson did a great job hiking. Only insisted on being carried (by Daddy of course) a few times.
Matthew didn't go hiking with us because he wanted to hang out with his buddies and go fishing.
We looked for interesting rocks and shells on the banks of the Brazos River.
No one fell in. All that hiking was pretty exhausting, so we had to have some naps...

After supper and smores, as it got dark, some of our brilliant friends pulled out glow sticks for the kids.

This is a great way to keep track of wild children after dark. I believe we had 12 adults and 13 kids. It was chaos. But we had a great time.
