We're still at the hospital. Steve's recovery was moving in the right direction, until last night. Now it's uncertain. We were hoping he would be going home in the next few days, but now that is unlikely. We'll know more in a few hours.
Our part of town is starting to return to normal. At our house we've got all services except internet restored. (Yay for hospital wifi) My parents helped me do some clean up in our yard and get the plants, etc our of the garage yesterday afternoon. Somehow I had failed to notice a tree right in front of our house severely leaning, but my dad got it standing back up straight.
Many folks in our area are still without power, some without water and some with pretty bad damage, though nothing as severe as the areas along the coast. Businesses are starting to open back up, but the stores and restuarants are pretty low on stock. Long lines for everything from gas to fast food. I couldn't believe the number of people waiting to get Whataburger yesterday.
Most schools are closed today and tomorrow. My office is returning to normal operations tomorrow, but depending on Steve's condition I probably won't be returning for a few more days.
